coarse sand is a natural product that has been specifically graded to meet the
recommendations and specifications of major sand filter manufacturers. The
filter sand is ground to a main size of 2.0 to 5 mm in diameter and is very
coarse when fresh. This roughness allows the sand to effectively filter out
dust particles in the water. Dry and free from dust, dirt, impurities and
organic matter. It is not intended for building construction. As this sand
roughness softens, the filter becomes less efficient. That means may the coarse
sand will have to run another 10 or more years to do the same softens in the
filter.

Katalox Light Media
In
the water filtration Katalox lite is the one of the catalytic media with the
highest surface area. That removes turbidity to more than >3 µm (micron) of suspended solids from water.
The major advantage of Katalox-Light is the loss of the slow head speed which leads to longer operation time. Katalox presents a high and rough surface with a large number of pores and cracks. Accordingly, the structural and texture is quite different from green sand Plus and Filter-OX.
